A family-friendly shelter a short walk from Djupvik. Follow the marked trail along the river from the churchyard for about 500 metres to reach the lean-to and its beautiful fjord view—perfect for a picnic break.

World War II fortifications on the Spåkenes peninsula with sweeping vistas of the Lyngenfjord. Wander among bunker ruins, gun emplacements, and information boards that share the site’s history. The gentle access road from the E6 makes it suitable for families.

Sorbmegaisa

Sorbmegaisa

A prominent peak between Djupvik, Olderdalen, and Storslett, known for its expansive views of the Lyngenfjord. The ascent follows steady slopes that are popular for ski touring in winter and rewarding hikes in summer. Stay on the normal route and evaluate avalanche conditions.

Engenesvannet

Engenesvannet

A small mountain lake beneath Sorbmegaisa that rewards a short but steep climb with wide-open vistas over the fjord. The waymarked trail starts just south of Djupvik and climbs roughly 600 vertical metres over 2.5 kilometres.

Kristianvatnan

A chain of tranquil tarns in Kristian Valley, about five minutes’ drive from the campground. Follow the path alongside the Kristian River to reach the lower lakes, a popular evening outing with opportunities for fishing (remember local regulations).
